How do I connect for the first time?
Install RemoScreen on both devices. To control a Mac from iPad/iPhone, open Invite remote control on the Mac to display a pairing code. Enter it in Add computer on iPad/iPhone, then approve the request on the Mac.
For Mac-to-Mac control, display the code on the Mac being controlled and add the computer on the controlling Mac. The Mac receiving remote input needs the required permissions and must keep RemoScreen running.
Permissions are enabled, but the Mac app still says they are missing
In macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security, check Screen & System Audio Recording and Accessibility for RemoScreen Host. Return to the app and allow the status to refresh. If macOS asks you to reopen the app, follow that prompt.
If the status remains unchanged, note the macOS and RemoScreen versions and take a screenshot for support. Do not delete Keychain items, reset all system permissions or uninstall other apps to troubleshoot.
A pairing code cannot be generated, or the connection fails
Check that both devices are online, the controlled Mac is awake and RemoScreen is running. Generate a new code and check that it is still valid; closing the window displaying it may invalidate it.
If the service is temporarily unavailable, retry later and note when the error occurred. For a saved computer that will not connect, check authorization, the network and the selected connection service, then reconnect.
When do I need a connection server?
Connections try a direct path first. A relay can help when a direct connection is unavailable. To add an existing relay, choose Add server in Connection services and enter the address and access key supplied by its administrator on each device.
To deploy your own relay, open Connection services → Download and deploy → Full deployment guide. That page indicates whether server packages are available to download.
How do purchase, trial and restoration differ?
The one-time purchase unlocks iPad/iPhone control of a Mac; Mac Host is a free companion. The trial lasts seven days and does not charge automatically. The App Store shows the actual price.
If a purchase is not recognized, use the original purchasing Apple Account and restore from Settings → Purchase and restore on iPad/iPhone. Retry after a network or verification failure. Restoring does not change device authorization. Use the Apple link below to request a refund.
During the trial, each app restart requires an online time check. After verification, you can use the app offline until the original expiry while it remains running. Lifetime purchases are unaffected.
How do I update RemoScreen?
On Mac, use Settings → Software update or Check for updates in the menu. A red badge at the bottom of the sidebar indicates an available update. Open the details, download the package and follow the installation steps.
Update the App Store edition for iPad/iPhone through the App Store. Keep both devices on compatible recent versions.
How do I change language and appearance?
In Settings, choose a language and Light, Dark or System default appearance. App language settings do not change the speech recognition language.
Privacy, terms and help text are available in all 11 app languages. Change the document language at the top of the page.
How do I submit an issue and read replies?
Open Support tickets in Settings, register your name and contact email, then submit an issue. Tickets show Open, In progress or Resolved, and keep the support team's replies. You can reply or refresh to see the latest progress.
Describe your setup, steps and error message. Registration submits the current device name, OS and app version; screens, files and logs are not uploaded automatically. Do not send passwords, verification codes, pairing codes, server access keys or private keys. If the service is unavailable, use the support email on this page.
